Take accountability for a suitable solution deployment strategy (Customer, Partner or Cloudflare Professional services) being an integral part of all proposals. - Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Provide oversight to technical onboarding and implementation, but not execute the implementation, serving as the primary executive and engineering contact for the customer. Design structured migration and onboarding blueprints tailored to the customer’s environment (e.g. DNS migrations, Zero Trust rollouts, WAF tuning guidance), and act as the lead consultant for customer engineering teams, walking them step-by-step through configuration best practices. Partner with Account Executives to own discovery, demos, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion strategy. Proactively monitor customer health scores and telemetry to ensure rapid time-to-value, resolve integration bottlenecks, and reduce deployment risk. - Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a variable quota tied directly to new business acquisition and/or ongoing account growth. Be commercially accountable for ensuring deep platform adoption, retaining revenue, and identifying strategic cross-sell and up-sell opportunities based on product usage data. Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to translate platform capabilities into return on investment for C-level executives. - Trusted Advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire customer lifecycle, maintaining a continuous, deep relationship with key stakeholders from initial onboarding through maturity, renewal, and expansion. Identify potential deployment risks or integration bottlenecks early, and provide remediation strategies to de-risk customer outcomes. - AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Leverage AI agents, Large Language Models (LLMs), and internal platforms to automate routine tasks such as RFP/Security Questionnaire responses, sandbox provisioning, basic telemetry monitoring, and internal/external documentation, reclaiming your time for strategic customer advisory. - Education & Enablement: Partner closely with the Enablement Team to design, build, and govern technical resources. Define, document, and educate both internal teams and customers on deliverables such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), architectural best practices, and technical guides to continuously raise the technical baseline across the organization. Strongly Preferred Qualifications (The "Good-to-Haves") - Technical Enablement: Track record of creating and delivering technical enablement - workshops, code samples, documentation, or developer onboarding - that accelerates customer adoption of complex platforms. - Applied AI Knowledge: Experience with LLM orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and model-access controls. - Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2. - Hyperscaler / Digital Native Background: Talent coming out of hyperscalers, digital natives, distributed systems environments, or startups is strongly valued for its deeper cloud fluency and advanced architecture depth. Senior Software Engineer - Desktop
Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators. At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there. A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone. The Consumer Apps Desktop team owns the Windows and macOS foundation behind every Roblox session on a PC or Mac: the window, the launch path, and the shell that holds everything together. You will own that foundation with us. We are dedicated to delivering superior performance, reliability, and user experience on Windows and Macs. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Desktop team, you'll be a driving technical force; you will lead complex client work end-to-end and raise the quality bar across our codebase. You will lead projects at that scale end-to-end, set the technical standard in a codebase millions of people depend on daily, and partner with product, design, and platform teams to ship work that is polished and fast at scale. You Will: - Shape & improve the Windows and macOS experience that millions of players see every day. - Own major Windows and MacOS initiatives end-to-end from ambiguous idea to shipped, measured, and iterated on. - Rebuild the parts of the app every player touches: how it launches, how it renders, how it lives in the OS. - Set the technical standard through code review, mentorship, and the code you write yourself. - Make platform bets that pay off for engineering teams beyond Desktop. - Translate ambiguous product ideas into well-scoped, high-quality engineering plans in close partnership with product, design, and data science. - Work with our Microsoft and Apple counterparts to ensure feature ubiquity and platform-specific feature excellence. You Have: - 5+ years shipping client software, with deep C++ expertise, including the ability to work effectively inside a large, established codebase. Experience with Lua/React is a plus. - Released significant Windows or macOS applications. You know the platforms and their APIs throughout. - Debugging and profiling skills that hold up under pressure: tracing, root-causing crashes, and diagnosing performance problems across the full client stack and an enormous range of consumer hardware. - Fluency with concurrency and memory. Threading models and memory footprint are a must have to excel here. - A reflex for data. Metrics, logging, and experiments are how you find out whether a feature works, not how you justify it afterward. - The ability to take an ambiguous problem, break it down, and drive it to done. You communicate clearly, build trust across functions, and make the engineers around you better. For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand.
